Entry Four: Setting Small Goals

Thursday, April 18, 2013

Once again, thanks to everyone who left me awesome comments! I always appreciate them :)

So since I first started my diet a few days back I've already lost some weight. Nothing significant really, only a few pounds. I think I'm actually down about three pounds or so, which is good. I'm not putting myself down or anything. I really am excited for this small success and I want to continue to lose at a slow, steady pace. I know I can do it as long as I don't lose my motivation.

My biggest struggle is always losing my motivation half way through my weight loss journey. But this time I don't plan on losing my motivation. I'm going to reach my goal once and for all. But to make things a little easier, I decided to try the strategy I always have the most success with. To keep me from feeling too overwhelmed by all the weight I still have left to lose, I'm gonna set tiny goals for myself, so I feel like I've accomplished something each time I reach them.

My plan is that I am just going to lose 5 pounds at a time. When I'm thinking about the weight I want to be, I am only going to think about the 5 pounds I have to go. So every 5 pounds is my goal. I'm going to start out by reaching a goal of 185 pounds. After I hit that weight I'll just go from there.

Alright, so that's it! I'm gonna do it! For now, I'm going to finish my can of V8 juice and I'll get back to you all later!

That's exactly the right attitude! Small steps get you there and keep you going. I do the same thing, 5 at a time and I've lost 63 in 11 months! You will absolutely get there with that mind set! emoticon
