Three C's In Life!

Thursday, April 18, 2013

Joshua 1:1-3 AFTER the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, it came to pass that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, saying: “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. “Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.”

There are times in our lives when we come to a fork in the road, so to speak, and a decision has to be made to take the road that we feel God is leading us to or the road that leads to our own ways, the ways of the world. Choices come to each one of us and it is up to us to take a chance for change to happen. God directs through our free will as we discern the Spirit of God in His leading us through life.

Four and a half years ago, I entered one of those periods where I had a choice to make. It was to stay where I was or join with the man that God had brought into my life to be his life mate. Even though I felt it was God's plan for me to marry him, I was given the freedom to choose. I chose to go with what I felt was God's plan and married Gerald and moved with him to where we currently live in Tennessee. My life totally changed! Some of those changes took more adjusting than others. And I am still adjusting to certain ones. But I am so thankful that God brought us together and gave my life new meaning!

Every day we encounter choices. One of the things that God instilled within me some years ago is this little statement: “The choices that I make today will affect the quality of my tomorrows”. You see, even though God has a plan for our lives, we have the choice to go with it, pursue Him to find out what purpose He has prepared for us and to discipline ourselves to follow His direction in fulfilling it. I get to choose which road I will take; the one that will lead to a long, healthy life that enables me to fulfill His plan for my life, or the one that satisfies my emotions and flesh.

Father, I thank You for going before us into the changes that are taking place in our lives. I thank You for protecting us from the evil one who comes only to steal, kill and destroy. I thank You for opening the eyes of our understanding to see You as You go before us into the unknown. And I thank You for holding our hand as we embrace the changes that You have planned for our lives. You are great and mighty to save! Your arm is not too short that it cannot hold us and save us from disaster. You see all things and know the pitfalls that may lie ahead of us. You, in Your loving kindness, steer us around those boulders that seem to block our way. Thank You for Your righteous right hand that holds us secure in Your grip. I pray that You will show us each the way that You want us to take to walk boldly and confidently with You into our futures. I thank You for giving us courage to embrace the changes ahead of us. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Thank you Avanell for a powerful message. Each day we do hava a choice to either follow God, for follow man. I choose God. God loves us for who we are and no man could ever give us the same love that God does. Man cannot keep up safe and secure, like God. When we are hurting, God experiences our hurts as well. Praise God and i know He will never leave us or forsake us. God bless you for sharing God's word with us. Thank you for the goodie and note you sent.

I certainly need the courage to embrace the changes ahead - and indeed the changes that are already upon me!

Thank you for the goodie and your leadership roles, Avanell.

Very good graphic slogan that even the simple minded as we sometimes are, can remember it when we make choices (perhaps rashly) and must live with the consequences. One thing that is guaranteed is that there will be change. His hand does guide us however!

Amen! The choices may not always be clear to us but if we are willing to give God our time and listen for His voice, we will find that He will speak and He will guide us.

Every day is a choice to put off the old man of emotions and flesh and to put on the new man the way of His rightoeusness by being fully dependent on Him. I am going to do better choosing what's right. Even as a child of God, why is it that we still want to go our own way? Then I look at my kids and realize we are indeed in a daily battle over our flesh. They claim to be saved but are still in training, me too! We must strive for the goal until we leave this earth!
