GI revolt.

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

I haven't been very active for the last few weeks. I am experiencing some GI issues again, and it is really making it hard for me to eat and exercise. I have been going back and forth between soup, ginger ale, ginger tea, and crackers, and what ever the heck I feel like, just to get something in me. Because I haven't really been eating properly, I don't have the energy to exercise, or I have abdominal pains that have me sitting curled around a heating pad. Missed work at the beginning of the month, but felt well enough to go back last week. I have been eating regular food since Sunday, and I did errands on Monday with no problem. Monday Night we took my Son and Grandson out to dinner to celebrate my son's birthday. Feeling okay through it all, not great, but not really bothered.

I am a member of the website, FindAGrave.com.
"Find a Grave's mission is to find, record and present final disposition information from around the world as a virtual cemetery experience.
Memorial contributions to Find A Grave should fulfill that mission - registration of the final disposition. If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the main mission, then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission. Find a Grave memorials may contain rich content including pictures, biographies and more specific information. Members can leave remembrances via ‘virtual flowers' on the memorials they visit, completing the virtual cemetery experience. Find A Grave is a resource for anyone in finding the final disposition of family, friends, and ‘famous' individuals."

I am a volunteer photographer. That means if you live in New York, but know where Granny in Hawaii is buried, and haven't been able to get over here, you may make a formal request, and a volunteer will attempt to fulfill your request. I had 4 requests for a cemetery near me that I have been to before. It is an older, inactive cemetery, and is quite over grown. I decided I would do some yard work and clean up around the graves I was going to photograph, as well as a few others. I filled up 3 large yard bags with weeds, and photographed several graves other than the ones I volunteered to take. I was there about 2 1/2 hours, and I finally left when I absolutely needed a bathroom! After a pit stop, I got on the bus and headed home. I was feeling a little head-achy, figured I had gotten a little too much sun. Unfortunately, the only seat I could get, was in the very last row, and it sits on the engine. By the time I got home, feeling like I should eat something, I decided to get off a stop early and go to the little mom and pop plate lunch place. Not the healthiest, but tasty. I got fries and a chicken katsu sandwich. This was just after 2:30 pm. By 4:00, I was uncomfortable, by 5:00 is was in pain, by 7:30, I was on my way to the ER. I spent 7 hours there, only to be told that I have an intestinal virus. We got home at 3:00am, and I crawled off to bed. I am afraid to leave my house right now, and I am out of soup and crackers, and I am almost out of ginger tea. I when we left the ER I didn't want to wait at the pharmacy for my prescription. So now I have to wait, and my Mom will get the things I need. All In all Feeling pretty crappy, and don't know what to think. If I don't show some improvement by Friday, I am going to insist I see a Gastroenterologist.

emoticon Sorry to hear you are not doing well.
Although it does sound like you might have gotten a bit of food poisoning to start off the whole chain of events?
Anyway, do hope you are back to 100% soon! It sucks to be ill.
