A Plan!

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

My SparkCoach assignment yesterday was to reclaim wasted time so I worked out a short strength training routine for the sleeper! I have 5 pound weights onboard so that's what I used but I will bring 8 pound ones along next time and maybe my 2 or 3 pound ones along for marching in place on bad weather days. Here is my starter program which took 23 minutes with a short warm up and stretches.

All upper body exercises were one arm at a time due to space limitations but I have read that one arm at a time gives better results.

10 reps x 2 sets:
Bent rows
Overhead press
Bicep curls
Overhead tricep extensions

20 standing crunches
20 calf raises

10 reps x 2 sets:
Bicycle crunches on the bed

Followed by appropriate stretches for the muscles used.

I am kind of excited about this because I have been feeling pretty hopeless about strength training which I really need at my age. Max has been wonderfully supportive. ❤ My ex husband was always sneering at me and trying to undermine me. After the accident Monday night I was dipping into the cashews and Max handed me the lid and gently said, "Dear don't you think it's time to put this back on?" ❤ He makes me feel like I can do anything. ❤

Happy Trails!

Wow, you are giving me inspiration!

We are often gone weeks and months at a time in our travel trailer, and I complain there's not enough room to work out. Hah! If you can do it, I can do it.

LOVE your husband's response; what a gentle and kind reminder that was. He's a keeper!

Wow! Apologies for the late catch up, but you have been a BUSY Sparker, haven't you? :-)

Cool deal on the SparkCoaching and weights. Your cashews remind me of one of my downfalls, a habit of keeping raw almonds handy (TOO handy) in my car...! What great hubby! High fives to him AND you!

The first blog I read of yours, you were so determined to get in your steps that it made me get up off my rear and walk! My hope is that later on when this gets to be old hat that I can remember how much you do in a small space with such determination that I will remind myself what I can do in this great big space that I have!
