Life goes on, but the weight doesn't have to

I'm back. I'm working on it. I'm trying.

My husband was deployed again last year. It was the year from hell. I bought a new van while he was gone and it ended up costing me a fortune in repairs. Things around the house broke including the lawn mower and the snow blower. My father in law got diagnosed with lung cancer and I had to be the one to break the news to my husband who was in Afghanistan. It was a horrible year.

He's home now. Two weeks after he came home his father passed away. We spent three weeks in Kentucky taking care of him, then planning the funeral and getting things in the house taken care of. Now we're home and things are starting to get back to "normal". Normal for us includes my husband living three hours away, and my oldest daughter who is a competitive irish dancer having class 5 nights a week. It makes for a very tired mom.

In July we are going to California for the Irish Dance National championships. I'm so proud of my daughter and all she has accomplished and how hard she has worked to get here. I am determined to be comfortable in my shorts and maybe even a bathing suit in California. I'm getting back on track. I've lost almost 7 lbs already. Only 81 to go!!! But I can do it!
