Flowers ordered, yay!

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

I went out early today so I could go order the "prom" flowers for my son and his date. I won't know for sure until I pick them up on the 27th exactly what they will look like, but I explained to the guys who own/run the shop what I needed (see previous blog). They promised it will be awesome and "as gay as possible". Since they are also a couple, I'm sure it will be perfect. They were impressed that my son and his date want to show support for their gay friends. I'm pretty impressed, too.

The best part? The guys didn't charge me an arm and a leg. It was very reasonable. I love that shop!

Had to go back and read - that is super sweet. High five for your son and his date.

Sorry the outfitting was so expensive, but I'm glad you found something good!

I agree, it's weird that prom is an all grades thing... my school didn't even have a junior prom, just senior prom. A lot of girls that were popular and went to prom every year (always dating a senior, or at least friends with one!) did dress swaps. So they wouldn't wear the same dress twice, but they'd trade with friends and wear somebody's dress from two years ago or something.

I didn't go to prom. ha. I did go to After Prom - my school threw a huge all night party to try and keep kids from going out drinking afterwards. It was actually usually pretty awesome, so a lot of people went. Plus I could wear jean shorts, no fancy dress (or date) required.

In hindsight I should have taken the adorable freshman boy who was in show choir with me. I said to him once "Kenny, I wish I was a freshman so I could date you." And he said "you don't have to be a freshman to date me!" Hahahaha. should've gone for it! I figured he was kidding.
