I went to the doctor this morning for a follow-up on my thyroid. He did a blood draw to check my levels. I still have been tired, so we talked about the sleep study I had done. He said I had mild sleep apnea. Even mild sleep apnea can cause tiredness which then causes hormones to be out of whack which then makes it hard to lose weight, which can help attribute to sleep apnea and so the vicious cycle. He gave me a couple options...CPAP or mouth appliance. I have to check my insurance and may need to wait until July 1st before I do anything because that is when our new insurance year starts.

Another thing I discussed with him...My right achilles tendon has been aching the last month or so, plus it has been a little swollen. He said I have calcified achilles tendonitis. He looked at my left foot too and it has a smaller calcification also. I need to rest, ice, do stretching exercises.

This is a little frustrating. He does want me to continue to exercise, but to be a little more careful. I will see my personal trainer tomorrow night and discuss it with him too - my doctor likes that I have a personal trainer.

Daily Goals:
1) Blog -- emoticon
2) Exercise at least 50 minutes. emoticon 52 min
3) Eat at least 5 freggies a day emoticon 5 servings
4) Instead of eating something unhealthy today, I will...stay busy

    I had tendonitis a few years ago and it was painful. Eventually it got better but I babied it and did exercises that didn't seem to aggravate. Hope you feel better soon.

    Sorry to hear you are hurting. I had/have mild sleep apnea. I never could get used to the CPAP, in total used it maybe 20 nights and never could sleep thru the night with it. I think losing weight is best and after losing even 20 pounds it made a difference.

    I hope your trainer has some good ideas for changing up your exercise while you are healing.

    Praying for God's wisdom in treating both apnea and tendon issue! Guess you're really going to have to focus on "what goes in" since you may have to cut back on Fitness Minutes! You CAN do it!! Hugs!!

    We like that you have a personal trainer, too! Sounds like you may be onto something that will help with your fatigue, and how great is that! Sorry you need to wait until July. Hope your feet heal up quickly (my brain first typed in 'heel' since I was thinking about your feet - too funny....)

    Listen to your doc, trainer and your body. Hope all those issues get resolved. The sleep really is so important for our bodies to function right and to heal, so praying that'll be taken care of quickly.
