Veggie Garden?

A&I April Week 3 BSG Challenge...

I don't plant a vegetable garden, though I would love to. I plan on doing this someday. Something to fill my days when the kids go to college. But for now, I just don't have enough time to give to it.

I do have a flower garden (less maintenance).

My mother and father have a vegetable garden. They plant onions, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, cantaloupe, watermelons, bell peppers, banana peppers, cucumbers, zucchini and pumpkins. They also have a couple of apple trees. They always grow a lot more than they need and bring me bundles of these veggies.

That's really cool that your parents plant a veggie garden and bring over the excess to you! I love to garden and hopefully when your kids are older you'll have the time to plant a garden.

I think you are lucky to have fresh veggies and apples without all the work involved. When you get to the point in your life when you have time I hope you enjoy your garden.

i like growing veggies but i have limited space. anything planeed outside the fenced in area gets eaten by rabbits. i have figured out tricks to make it a little less work, but i still enjoy it.

I know you love the fact your parents have enough to share. Nothing beats fresh out of the garden veggies.

I need a mentor for gardening. I can't tell the difference between the flowers and the weeds until it is too late.

It's great that you can receive the benefit of your parents' veggie garden. I used to have a small plot behind my pantry in the back yard - maybe a dozen tomato plants and some bell peppers.
But now we have these 2 big galumphing dogs. Need I say more?
If my DSIL gets ambitious and fences in an area (they're HIS dogs), then maybe I can have a garden again. I hate throwing out "good garbage" - compostable stuff.
Blessings to you on this journey to a healthy lifestyle.
