Juice Fast Day 4

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

Well the day is coming to a close and I am finishing up my fourth day juicing. I can tell that I'm going to grow tired of the juices, as there are only so many combinations and flavored that you can get with green vegetables, apples and tomatoes. I have found that I'm not hungry, and the juice is unappetizing so I basically am drinking them down quickly just to fill up. I guess a lot of getting through it is changing the idea of eating-where I once used to eat because I enjoyed the cooking, presentation, creativity and experience; I now have to eat for sustenance. The foodie in me is pouting... But only for 26 more days.

I was less energetic today than yesterday, but I still managed to get out for a walk. I've inspired two friends to try the fast for 14 days-both started today and have mixed feelings. I've had weird cravings today. It started with a dream this morning that I had broken my fast by eating a hot dog. In my dream I was so remorseful because I don't even like hot dogs. I also had a craving for garlic cheese bread... I don't think I've ever had garlic cheese bread. So strange...

Today moved more quickly than the last two, where I felt very aware that I was fasting, and waiting for the next juice. Today I was less concerned and just fell back into my routine.

Looking forward to day five :)

BTW, dittos on all the encouragements and such that MARATHON_RUNNER gave you. She is the best at it. Love my juicing sisters.

I don't know MARATHON-RUNNER. I think her mind is trying to tell her.... help... I want junk. Give me junk! I will give you dreams of junk food unless you start giving it to me. The body may be enjoying the better stuff, but the mind right now is louder. Her mind is even telling her "this is boring".

Well, I can't argue with ya about the boring stuff with juicing, although I do like the juice. I am looking forward to different tastes and textures once this is over. I love to try new recipes and such, and of course eat it, so I guess I would consider myself a foodie also.

Just keep strong. Your mind will quiet down. You are getting better and healthier.

Wonderful, I should have checked out your blog before I wrote you a mail, asking over and over again: "How are you??" OK, lesson learned. ;) Your fast is going really well!!! Congratulations! I had to chuckle about your dreams about a hotdog and cheese bread?! Maybe, you are trying to tell yourself that there does exist protein out there in the 'real' world? But, hot dogs are just about the worst kind of protein, so that is puzzling. Maybe next time you will crave some delicious rice protein? Nonetheless, you are cleansing, slimming, and showing me how it's done!!! Congratulations, you are doing absolutely fabulous!!! Am so excited for you!!! Keep on going, just 26 more days, and you will have done something fabulous for yourself that no one can take away. I'll be checking up on you and your progress with eagerness as often as I can. Stay well and stay the course. ~J. ((HUGS)) Proud of you and your determination!!!!
