This is not a competition for me

Friday, April 12, 2013

Competition can be good and fun, but I'd rather learn skills that I can apply and practice. Competition can be a small component of applying the skills. I do like to challenge myself and stretch my abilities and capabilities.

Yes I had good news but my GI system is still messed up. I had hoped to do the April Rise and Shine Challenge, but my body is telling me to sleep and heal. So do I turn away defeated... heck no. There is still lots of April left. They do say practice makes perfect... but I am human and will settle for a high percentage rather than perfect. But if I do not try (practice) then changes cannot take place.

Since it is a dreary rainy day, I have to send in a check for taxes, and I still have GI issues... do I throw in the towel? Heck NO!!!

I posted to the following threads:
~ Something I am grateful for today.
~ If You Can Only Do 1 Thing Today...
~ I give myself credit for...

These threads remind me that even on bad days, good can happen. so off my pity pot I go to make slow but steady changes and progress.

Sleep and heal, yes, that is so important. Take good care and nurture yourself....plenty of opportunity for pushing when you are fully restored.

I enjoyed reading about your resourcefulness in finding what CAN be done.

Even when there are things we cannot do, there are always a million more we can.

My favorite motivational speaker (Les Brown) says, "Practice does NOT make perfect! You can always better your best!"

So I know you will do everything you can to make this day the best possible. Have a great weekend!

emoticon Great attitude as you can only do, what you can do, accept the things you can't change and thank God for giving me the wisdom to know the difference. I believe, in every action, there's a positive reaction. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
