Catch-up...and mustard! YUM!

Tuesday, April 09, 2013

So to play a lil blog catch up, Saturday was a BEEEAAAAUUUUTIFUL day and it was spent very active as I took a walk (over 4 and a half miles) and then did yard work all day, which led into a bon fire that night. I was pooped and by 8:30pm was crawling into the house to go to bed.

Sunday was another spectacular day and again another one spent out doors doing fun yard work. I work my tushy off!

That leads me into Monday...ugh...well...I spent over 12 hours on the computer doing hw. I was finally done and ready to log off (around 9:30pm) to workout. I was so excited to do that. Then I looked around and realized NOTHING had been done all day around the house, so I had to pick up and clean a lil. By the time that was done, it was close to 10:30pm. Now...keep in mind I have to get up every morning at 4am. Right around that time I started getting really hungry. I couldn't understand why I was so hungry. Then I remembered I was so consumed in my work all day I had less than 400 calories alllllll day, and that was including the two cups of coffee/cream and a handful of cheerios. So instead of working out before bed I ate. Of course because I ate, I couldn't fall asleep and it was close to 1am last night (or early this morning) before I finally fell asleep. Like I said, 4am comes awfully early! Today is my long day and when I finally get home Rob looked at me while I was making my quick and very late lunch and asked what my plans were for tonight. I told him I would definitely have to clean the house again (the kids ugh!), he then said, "Tonight...you work out!" I smiled. FINALLY...he realizes the importance, and I thanked him for his encouraging me to do so. He didn't say, "Yeah this house is a wreck!" He said, "...you work out!" That's his way of saying screw the housework and take care of me for a minute! Oh and by the way, he brought me a huge bouquet of flowers and a card yesterday because he knew how stressed I was with all the work I had to do. It was so sweet. So tonight...I will work out. The housework will get done in time.

You need to do some housework every week but you do not need to have a perfect house every day. I also do not apologize for my house if someone comes over. If someone comes over and comments including family I just tell them that we live in our house and if they have extra time that they are welcome to come over and help out if they push the issue.
I am glad you are putting yourself first and that your husband recognizes what you need to be successful. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

So glad you had a great weekend - I love spending time outside! Sorry to hear that Monday was so hectic but how wonderful that your husband recognized what the priority should be - exercising! The flowers are definitely an added bonus.

    I love the blog title!

Cleaning is overrated! Get your workout in, that is more important! I saw one of those ecards that said cleaning the house with kids is like brushing your teeth while eating oreos! Our older kids are getting better about helping to clean up their mess. We have a few strategies that seem to work, but getting them involved in keeping things tidy reduces the amount of cleaning that we have to do.

Take care of yourself and don't forget to eat! My DW does that sometimes, saying "I forgot to eat lunch today". I just cannot relate. It wouldn't kill me to miss a meal, but my body would sure let me know that I did.
