Whew, I am so tired I know I will be the first one out tonight. My shoulders ache from carting my back pack, My legs ache from walking almost 30 miles today. And talk about sore feet, I wish there was a spa to soak in. (oh, well,) it's not got to happen out here in the bush. I better get that tent up!
We started our day at the Kalamunda Northern Terminus on the Bibblemun Track. We had to sign in there and state we were walking the trail. We will travel to Dwellingup, for our first week on the trail. It is a distance of 202kl. or 126.5 miles and we will spend 4 days getting there.
We sat up camp at Beraking Campsite tonight, It has an outside toilet for our use and a
tank that catches rain water and drain off from the roof of the wooden shelter. We still sleep in our tents to be more protected from the bugs, etc. I am covered with bug spay, LOL, not taking any chances. Most of us were so tired we hastily open one of our freeze dried packs and heated it up quickly and then some dried fruit and we were satisfied. At this point sleep is more important. Even our Joan was very quiet tonight.
My highlight of the day was spotting a laughing Kookaburra.
And this U Tube video is so great. You will see them laugh, so funny!
We saw amazing flowers of all colors, waded through water and got wet, even had a little rain to trek through. But Hey, that gives us water to drink!
All and all, the first day actually on the trail was great.
