Things that made me smile Sun...

That is a pretty long shot for me. I look for stability not changing levels. I spend time caring for my animals. Yesterday I was supposed to be trapping for the spay neuter clinic but the cats were avoiding the traps even the regular snack and be released cats who don't need to be spayed or neutered again. It is not uncommon for me to release up to 2 dosen and then there is Michele who I have released numerous times in the same day. It was kind of windy on and off, but it is unusual to trap so few over such a long time. I have to do several hours of feeding after trapping. Last night I didn't pull the traps until after feeding.
Right now there are kittens and am seeing some eye infections probably secondary to herpes. I want to treat the eyes so that the kittens will not end up blind and the opthalmic ointment does help with secondary sinus problems a little too, but some mothers see me handling the kittens as a threat and hide them them even though I am treating and returning them. It is normal for the dams to move small kittens every several days to help protect them form predators. Remember that though I have spent a lot of time with these cats and can handle some of them pretty easily and a lot of them have names, this is still a large feral colony. A fairly large number seek attention and some will come and sit on me if they see the opportunity. It has warmed up enough for me to turn the shed heaters down to defrost again and hopefully I can unplug them until next fall pretty soon. This year they were on defrost much of the time until the post groundhogs day eary spring cold snap.
The groundhog reader was wrong this year and I was not able to get tomatoes and basil etc started as early this year as usual. I will have to go check and see if I can find any seedling stock I want still available. I usually give my brother's other extended family (his mother in law and her significant other) herbs and tomatoes at Easter, so If I find some appropriate I will send them. I asked them if they had checked thier brocoli I gave them last year so we went down and found they had some boccoli to harvest and eat before it went into bloom. I will have to check back and see how it was. Both of us still have herb stock. Some of it is from plant stock I planted more than thirty years ago. I sometimes give away plant stock or seeds. I lost my thyme and rosemary severa years ago when we had a really cold winter and I had to get new plant stock for them but yesterdays check showed it was still there. I found I had a cabbage plant coming back up too. I will continue to work in around my old plant stock. I have a fair number of bulb plants right now. I have lots and lots of grape hyacinths in some areas so I should probably relocate some.
Anyway, things to do are a good thing.
