April 7-Renewing My Commitment To Myself!

Sunday, April 07, 2013

The last few months have been really tough. I was put on blood pressure meds. My husband is having knee issues. The girls have had colds. Elora has been teething. Me and the girls had a stomach virus. Elora and I had lice (I am so thankful for the nurse at our pedi office for calming a very freaked out mama down!). Now we are all dealing with allergies. So with everything that has been going on I have been really tired and drained. I have given in to the temptation of easy fast food more times than I care to think about. I haven't been exercising because well, lets face it, it's easier to sit around on your duff than to get up and move.
So what has changed? Well, I'm tired of being sick and tired, for one. For two, I can't keep up with my kids at the park. Elora took off toward a hill yesterday and I was winded by the time I got her. She is 17 months old! She doesn't even really run! The last reason I am renewing my commitment is that my baby making days are officially on countdown. Ok so actually my husband's are, which means mine are. He turned 39 two weeks ago. He doesn't want more kids after 40. So next year for his birthday he is treating himself to the big snip. We really want another baby. I just don't think it's going to happen at this weight.
Starting today, my family is eating healthier. We are going to get outside together (at least me and the girls. Shane has to work.). I am not going to sit on my rear end just to watch it get bigger! I have a year to try to get pregnant. I have to try everything I can.

If it was easy, everyone would do it. Unfortunately, this road we are on is very bumpy and sometimes our shock absorbers just don't handle the job.

Just keep focused on your short term goals that lead to the golden ring. Take it just one palm tree at a time.
