Make It Happen

You can do more than just think about what you would like to achieve. You can take the focused, persistent actions that will make those achievements happen.

You can do more than just wish for a better life. You can decide precisely what would define a better life for you and then work your way steadily toward it.

You can do more than just wait for your problems to go away. You can have the courage to look straight into those problems, and find a way to transform them into opportunities.

You can do so much more than simply waiting and hoping, wishing and wondering. You can gather whatever resources you may have, combine them with your time, your energy, your commitment, and make things happen.

Ever since you were a child, you have been making things happen. It’s an ability that everyone has, yet far too many people make too little use of it.

If you just wait for life to happen to you, you’re probably not going to be very pleased with what comes your way. So get up, get going, take control of the great and wonderful possibilities that are indeed yours, and make the most of every moment.

I'm going to "ramble on" a bit about the journey I've been on, some lessons I've learned.
When I awakened this morning, I was grateful to just "be". In whatever state I am in, at THIS moment. Sneezing. Watery eyed. UGH.
My road has been rocky lately. I had no control over the rocks(situations/circumstances
) placed in my path, but I DO have control over how I approach them, and my attitude towards them.

There are some rocks that you go around, and look back and see they were there to send you in another direction. There are rocks that you crawl over, getting your hands dirty and your soul scratched. But you get over it. You've grown stronger. If you adjusted your attitude in the effort, you are wiser and often a better person. When you see your scars, you know they are there to remind you that you CAN DO IT!
Then there are rocks you explore, and find little chinks in, and you realize you CAN break it down to smaller pieces, and go THROUGH it! As a whole, it may appear to be this huge boulder, but when you stand back and hit it with your hammer of Truth, it can go from mountain to molehill.

We can make anything happen... when we exercise control over our minds. It's called DISCIPLINE!
I learned over the past few months, even discipline doesn't always work with my body. It is fearfully and wonderfully made, in ways I do not understand. I'm adjusting my attitude towards my body and as much as I can, I am using discipline to do what is good for my body, no matter how it reacts. I will appreciate the body I have, and if I take care of it to the best of my ability, it will be enough. The outward appearance does not always show the real interior! The scales numbers do not reflect who I am, or really the true state of my body.
I'm not just going to "go with the flow" because my body can only do so much... I'm going to realistically expect more, and I WILL achieve more. Focus on the positives to quiet the negatives. Seek balance for ME.
Sparking has been a strong thread in my days... even if I do not post on some days. Just tracking and reading has kept my hope intact. My teams have kept my hope intact. I want to be healthier and fitter. That's the bottom line.

    So glad to hear you are staying on track Leah! Life sure is a rocky road indeed. I am currently going through a bad spell with new disease activity in my lower spine, shoulders and feet and a very painful elbow problem, but I still get my exercise in as it hurts worse to sit or lay around. Never give in and never give up. Someday they may find something to help me, but I am not waiting around, I will keep on doing the best I can to live a fullfilling life. Its all we can do!
