I cannot eat 80 or 85% at home. It's fine if eating out, but its too greasy for me at home. 80% is 15 grams of fat and 5 grams of saturated fat per 3/4 oz burger. I much prefer 93% because it's only 7 grams of fat and 3 grams of saturated fat per 4 oz. I wish I had the diligence to eat 99% ground beef but not only can I not always find it (it's hard enough to get the 93% before it gets bought up), but the 99% costs too much.
If I'm in a bind and can't find 93% beef I sub for 93% ground turkey or eat chicken or fish. Cannot go fatter for ground beef or I'll feel like I'm eating out all the time. 1875 days ago
last night I made asian vegetable with rice but I thought I'd add extra frozen peas- I poured out a cup of frozen peas, twist-tied the remaining and stashed frozen peas in plastic container for extra freezer protection-then zipped up the rest of the bagged dry rice and put it away on the shelf. Dinner was delicious, the night was good. This morning I opened the shelf for oatmeal and there were the 'frozen' peas stacked beside the rice.
