Alone, I wait till the next time
for when they come to see me
a family far away, a family growing
on their own

Alone, I dream of the next visit
seeing their smiles, hearing the news
a time of family joy

Alone, I remember ‘our’ time when
they were young and still at home
growing and yearning to be out
in their own world

Alone, I am saddened by the way
life has a designated path and each one
in time shall walk their own line -

    This one brought tears...

When those you love are not close, even in a room of people you can feel alone.

Alone can be lonely. But, at least with SP you are never totally alone.

I am sorry about your sadness.....I hope you have other people in your life that love you too and not just count on your family. God bless! Love, Chelsea emoticon

I can totally relate to this. It seems to be the way of the future. I can remember when I was young and our grandparents and great grandparents were part of our every day life. Sometimes "progress" is not for the better.

I know what you mean. While mine are still home - I am already dreading that time when they will no longer be mine to love and to hold close. Of course, the love will be there - but they will have their own lives to lead.

Thanks for sharing the poem - it was heart touching!

Rhoda, sorry to see that you are a bit on the sad side right now to see your family go home. That is always so tough but rewarding to know that you did such a great job that they are able to have a great life.
It is always the toughest right after family leaves and then you get back in the groove of everyday living.
Sending you hugs and sunshine to make your day a bit brighter. Keep those memories that you just made close to your heart until they visit again!
    Hugs, Holly emoticon emoticon emoticon
