Savor the Good!

Friday, April 05, 2013

It is amazing how much good I am able to find in a day when I choose to focus on smiling instead of complaining. I am learning to remind myself that the little frustrations and annoyances in life just make the good even sweeter.

I was so SALTY early this morning because the 6:30 am commuter bus for my community has not been showing up on Friday's - for NO reason! I'm telling you it set me in a downward spiral of anger and negative energy.
Then I remembered how much I like solving problems and the only real way to solve this problem was to lodge a formal complaint with the Metro system that maintains the bus schedules and regulates the bus operators. I decided to represent myself and my fellow riders and I let go of my attachment to the outcome.

You see, once you have done all YOU can do, taken all avenues to resolve the situation - it is out of your hands and out of your control.
After I filled out the complaint form and hit send - I was free to enjoy all that is GOOD about my day!

Life is really good if we just allow ourselves to enjoy it! Sometimes that means biting the bullet to make some changes Damn IT!!! LOL.

I wish I read this blog earlier. I love " let go of my attachment to the outcome." We can work ourselves up into such a frenzy over things we have no control. If I just focused that same laser focus on getting into the gym and putting the fork down...

Raising a ruckus! Go you, tell those Metro people how you feel! Doesn't seem right that they wouldn't have a bus on Friday morning, do they think everybody gets Fridays off!?!?!
