One hour past bedtime...and on the way

Thursday, April 04, 2013

Our day never warmed up. Nevertheless, everything is done. I will move the lambs to the house in the morning...then they can dismantle the greenhouse til I get home. The ponies were all moving slow...I hate how the vaccinations make them feel but as a teenager I sat one night in a barren pasture and consoled an unknown horse who was down and thrashing with encephalitis. All my babies ate their dinner well and should be back to their fiesty selves in a couple of days. I let kitty out a few hours later when he seemed unaffected. He promptly caught a big plump rat and was so enthralled when I praised him that he ran directly to me with it dangling from his mouth, twining through my legs...then deposited it behind my car which I needed to move I moved his rat, backed out, picked up the mail and returned to find he was back in his spot enjoying his catch...he grudgingly moved til I parked the car and resumed his dinner.
For me...I decided that swiss cheese, miracle whip and a tortilla tasted really good about 30 minutes before Mom had dinner ready...I ate about a third, apologised for not being hungry and put it up for tommorro. Mom wasn't upset and I was glad I had sense enough not to try to eat it when I really wasn't hungry...even though it did taste good. enjoy a night's rest and really nice knowing that I have fed late enough that I won't have to get up at 10 or 11 and feed lambs again. Yay.

Aw, it sounds like your cat really loves you. One of our cats used to leave 'things' in my sister's shoe for her.

When I was a child, we had a white cat (Snowball) who brought my dad a bullfrog! It was still alive, so Dad put it in our bathtub to live for a few days. Yeah, we didn't bathe for a few days so the bullfrog (huge one, too) could have a fun time. Lol... I should probably not admit this in public.

The cats we have now... are too lazy to catch rats or anything else. They're doing good to grab the occasional roach. Sigh.

Kudos to your industrious cat! emoticon
