The Blog about BMI

Body Mass Index, based on height and weight, is just one measurement of health but since the health industry is focused on it and it tends to be present on any weight loss tracker, it's a number that we all keep a wary eye on. Am I right? Personally, I think the body fat percentage number from my scale is a more accurate description of how much fat I am carrying around as the BMI does not take into account bone density or age. But, whatever. BMI is an important measurement and I am consistently labeled "Overweight" by the lovely chart. Except.....
today when I averaged my weight over the last three days (which I like to do in hopes of keeping my fluctuation freak-outs in check) and entered it into my FitBit tracker, I got this!
Yep, ladies (and the rare gentleman), I am in the green!!! And I gotta tell ya, that little FitBit gets all the credit. This time. It keeps me active and honest. It's like a game I play to see if I can achieve a 500 calorie deficit each and every day. I've lost 5 pounds since I got it late Feb. Pretty good.
Will post more about the FitBit user interface, which I find very fun and easy to use, later. Am off now to rack up more calories burned!
