I've been struggling since the weekend and being sick. I've binged, been emotional, bloated up (I'm talking a 9 pound weight gain in one day when normally my fluctuations are like 3-4 pounds) and got my period a week early. I just feel like I am in a funk and am sad because I was just on such a high on Friday when reaching my mini goal. I know the scale isn't going to be kind to me Friday for my official weigh in and I need to accept it and keep going (or rolling, considering how bloated and round I )

I did get to the store tonight and finally bought some more protein powder for my strength training days. I really missed being able to make my smoothies and chocolate milk with it after workouts. I also got some sports socks. They are black and neon trim colors so they match my shoes. I dunno, black shoes and white socks were really annoying me. lol.

Anyways, thanks for reading. It felt good to vent a little. Have a good night.

When we keep going through both the UPs and the DOWNs and just keep turtle-ing along, they eventually seem to even out. I've noticed (knock wood) that the waves and troughs are getting less extreme. Best wishes, Ruth emoticon

Just saw this now. Hope you are feeling better. Sometimes we sabotage ourselves when we are a little too happy. It happens. We just have to learn from it, dust ourselves off and move on. emoticon

I've been having a tough couple weeks too. Work has had me very stressed out so I've been using food to relax. Just today for lunch I got a nice salad but of course had to order some fresh baked choc chip cookies to "snack on" later. I have had a hard time getting my motivation back, but I am determined to keep trying my best.

Do not feel bad, everything will get better. You can get back to your mini-goal again! The TOM is horrible for me too!

Everyone makes mistakes. You're human like the rest of us. You have some ideas about what caused the problem, but what else could have caused it? And what can you do in the future to help you through something similar happening? What about making sure to pick up more protein power before you run out? How can you help slow a binge or emotional eating? Can you talk to someone or come on SP if you start feeling down or depressed before you turn to food? What can you do for yourself when you're sick to help you get back to feeling upbeat sooner?

If you can learn from the experience and plan a new way to handle a similar situation in the future, then you can turn this into a positive. Be kind to yourself.
