It's all in the hips.

Tuesday, April 02, 2013

Yeah, there is a fat joke in there somewhere...but...let's not.

Seriously, since I've picked up the pace in my powerwalks, my hip is screaming by nightfall. To the point that my house smells like old lady ointment and Advil is my Easter candy.

I've got to purchase a foam roller and really start a stretch routine. Good gracious, it's hard to get in all these "types" of exercise. Today will be strength training since it's raining. I do have a treadmill but I think my hip is nagging for a real rest. I can focus on core and upper body.

The emotional fallout from upcoming divorce continues in spades. I can see how angry and confused my son is and I can't really talk to him ... not tell him everything because that's a burden he cannot bear. When I tell him the typical "counselor"'s not your fault, this will be better for you because your parents will be happier...yadda yadda yadda...he just looks at me and basically calls "Bullsh!t." Not in such language, mind you, but yeah. I've lived through this at his age and I remember. So I'm wondering how to navigate the typical counselor offerings and still give him some truth that he can accept. I'm praying about it but have gotten no clear answer yet.

My eyes look ridiculous from crying so much. I hate that I cry. I know that I need it cause I've held it in but ...come on...why can't tears be good for my complexion? LOL!

On a positive note, my house looks freaking amazing. My restlessness has translated to a REAL spring cleaning. We are talking cleaned, power washed garage, new scrubbed cabinets with fresh paper liners, Bathrooms ready for the Pope to poop. Yes, that clean. The calorie burn is probably phenomenal but the cortisol from stress is probably keeping it from the scale. That's okay ... for now.

Okay, I'm going to do some work that I'm paid for now. ;) Then off to counseling and then the dentist. So yeah, I'm taking care of myself in all aspects now, especially the ones that I hated most. Knocking them out so I can get to the good stuff!

Y'all have a great Tuesday!

Sorry about everything you're going through with the divorce, and the soreness in your hips. It seems like everything happens at once, doesn't it?

I think I'm one of the only people I know who didn't care when their parents got a divorce. I was so happy not to hear them bi+ch at each other all the time, and I knew I would still see my dad regularly. It was not a big deal to me.

Your son will get past it. And he's lucky to have a mom who cares.

I'm hoping for the burst of energy for spring cleaning any day now! Annny day now...

Sorry things are so rough for you and your son. :( The wounds are still raw, so it will just take time.

Keep taking care of yourself! Its terrible that you have to watch your son struggle and there isn't much you can say, is he seeing a counselor by chance? sometimes it helps to hear those things from a third party, just a thought.

Definitely get a foam roller and work on stretching, it is soo good for you. Is the pain on the outside of your hip? just asking because I used to have terrible tightness there and foam rolling made a HUGE difference emoticon
