Back from Vacation and Raring to Go!

We took a trip South for vacation during the kids' Spring break. We went to Memphis then Nashville, TN, thinking we'd have warm-ish weather.
But, as we were walking the streets of Memphis in 30-degree weather with 40 mph winds, Ohio was getting hit with 3-4 inches of snow. We laughed that we would never be walking around the streets of our hometown in 30-degree weather, but we were on vacation, and by gosh, we were going to enjoy it! I loved Memphis, with an accidental lesson in Rock-and-Roll history with the roots of Blues, learning about the creators of this fantastic stuff. "It speaks to me" is the best way for me to explain it. We watched Gibson guitars being made, walked by the Lorraine Hotel (where MLK Jr. was shot - chills), and sadly did not go to the National Civil Rights museum (when my son is older, yes), and missed the "Mud Island" exhibit which gives a scale model of the entire Mississippi River and how it dumps into the Gulf of Mexico - it didn't open until this week. I want to go back.
So now I'm back, after having walked a lot and eaten even more, and started my day with walking my dog (in the falling snow) and eating a good breakfast. I ate too much Easter candy yesterday which was just the chaser to all I ate all week, so am starting my detox-from-processed-sugar today. I'm drinking lots of water with lemon, eating whole foods, and just getting back to practicing what I know is right.
Tonight I will get back to my workout for week 1 of couch-to-5K being as I took time off during vacation. I only have two months until my mud run on June 1!
