And another hike!!!

Monday, April 01, 2013

Yesterday, when I went hiking, hubby told my 4 year old that I was hiking and he was most upset that he wasn't asked to join. When I came back he kept on talking about hiking and that he really wanted to go and hike a mountain (he also kept on talking about snow... it is rather hard on the kid to tell him that there is no snow in Western Australia... especially in late summer).

Anyways, we decided to do a small hike with the kids... not a real mountain, but a 4.4km walk up a hill... and they did SO well!!! Okay, there was some complaining from my 2 3/4 year old.... and the repeated question from my 4 year old: ARE WE THERE YET?? But dang!! They hiked up all the way up and all the way down again.. I was a bit in pain and agony thanks to busting my knee yesterday on my hike... and thanks to my muscles being EXTREMELY sore after yesterday.... yet I made it too!!!

I have burned so many calories though yesterday and today, that I was incredibly hungry today, so I allowed myself to eat more. I did not graze nor did I stuff myself, just ate a bigger portion... and I have to lament, Mr. Rabbit lost his ears. Here he is, the poor fellow... do they sell ear transplants somewhere????

It sounds like you have done so well over Easter. Really nice to read about doing fitness with the family.

What a nice story. I used to make up a story for my kids about sending them on the train to Colorado to visit my friend Angie. You can tell yours you're putting them on a plane to Ohio to visit Erika & snow - its snowing right now! Though I would pick another state in your made-up story ;-) Sounds like you got in some great exercise, though poor rabbit can't hear today.
