Starting My "No Meat Week" tomorrow.

Sunday, March 31, 2013

I am really excited to start my no meat week. Not sure why it is so exciting, maybe because it is the start of the month and I always feel like I need to start a new diet each month, or always end up doing that. Anyway, I didnt write up a menu but I have a pile of ideas of what I am going to eat.
We went to MIL's for dinner today, I knew it was going to be on the fattening but OMG! The fattiest ribs I ever laid my eyes on, chicken wings (because she thinks they are healthy) potatoes, and veggies with cream sauce, apple strudel for dessert I ate two bites of the 1 rib I put on my plate, 1 tiny wing, the smallest potato and veggies. UGH! What a send off to meat. Gary and I split a strudel for dessert.
Some of the things I am going to make this week is a mushroom, feta and spinach pizza, vegetarian moussaka, sweet potato gnocchi.
Also going to focus on my portions this week, I got my measuring cups out to remind me in the morning and I am going back to tracking, which I havent done in over a week.
The weather is getting better, snow is starting to melt. We can actually walk down the road and not be walking in snow. I am going to up my walk length starting tomorrow. We usually just walk to the post office in the morning and that takes 20 minutes to go there and back. Now that it is lighter earlier and not stupid cold, we are going to walk further and stop at the P.O. on the way back.
So, this is my week:
No meat
Portion control
longer walks

Did you know that you can enter your food up to a week in advance on the SP tracker then print out a shopping list? You could give that a shot to help ensure you get only the food you need at the grocery store.
