Recently overheard in a conversation at work: " You always talk about winning powerball, but you never even buy a ticket "
In the past I often talked about my fantasy of winning Powerball and being thin and healthy in the same breath. As if they carried the same odds. And at that point I suppose they did. Because although I usually remembered to buy my Power ball ticket, I never realized I could buy my weight loss ticket as well. And now that I've bought my ticket, and changed my eating and exercise habits, I find my odds are pretty good. I've won a little bit nearly every week. And those winnings have added up to a 66 pound weight loss so far, and a much brighter outlook on life.
When I was a teenager and sad that I didn't have a boyfriend, I used to fantasize about losing weight and how I would handle the guys that used to snub me and would now be interested. All fantasy - because I didn't visualize what I needed to do to lose the weight. Sort of like not buying the lottery ticket but dreaming of what I would do with the money.... So, I love your analogy. Good for you for doing so well! 1933 days ago
