Progress in spurts

I am not alone. I cannot be the ONLY person in the universe that jumps from one plateau to another. LOL

I'm still losing weight, but I believe (and my physical therapist says) that I am gaining muscle.

In August, in order to get life insurance I had to go for a doctor's exam because my BMI was too high. (I'm not even working at that company anymore either!) At the exam, the nurse measured my waist and it was 108cm! I asked her what was normal and she said, "88". I looked at her and she laughed and said, her waist was NOT an 88 either.

Fast forward to March 2013. I have lost 20kg and when my husband measured my waist recently it was 87cm! That alone makes me feels so great!

So I started at 100kg and right now I am sitting at 79.6. I'll probably sit at this weight for 2-3 weeks and then boink! jump to 78.3 or something and sit there for a while.

Just when I start getting desperate and thinking I should just give up --the numbers on the scale move a bit. It's getting harder now. In the beginning I lost 1-2 pounds every week - week and a half but as I get smaller (if I can say that) it's getting more difficult.

Funnily enough, I have seen other women who weigh the same as me and look like they weigh 60kg and then there are others who look like they weigh 100kg but are the same weight as me now. Different body types, I know, but still. Feels like I have nothing to gauge myself with. Even as I look at the pictures I have taken, I am hard pressed to see real changes, but I know they are there and more are coming.

I'm just yammering away, and thought I would write at least one blog update since it's been so long since my last one.

Onward I go...

    It is a wonderful achievement to lose those kilos, emoticon As for the wieght - as long as you are doing the right things and know that you are not going n the wrongdirection

    You are not alone.

    Recently I shifted my focus to gaining muscle and if I lose weight too then it's a bonus. I want to be thin but I also want to be stronger. Those muscles will help me burn more calories. They will also help me with other goals like running distance and times. I'm trying to ignore my current plateau, especially like you said, people of the same weight look really different. I think a lot of that has to do with muscle mass. So I'm trying to focus on other goals besides my weight.
