Positive things are happening ...

While I consider myself optimistic, I'm not one to put the cart proverbial horse, so I see good things and believe that it is a pattern that is building. I'm controlling my excitement however and watching how it is trending.
Aside from this being a weekend before my first day of vacation starts, here are some of the relative highlights ...
I started with my apps - basically the first week was slow - essentially a kick off of sorts. But the second week I stayed on program. Walk 3 times a week. I was able to monitor activity including steps. The second week i more than doubled those steps even though I had a poor (busy) workweek. I took advantage of every opportunity to walk. I even left my car in the driveway and walked to the store one evening. The week culminated with a couple of hours yard work on the church grounds (during which I tracked my steps (3613) followed by a botanical gardens photo (pictures are below) walk (tracked walk and steps-6814). I followed that up with a nice epsom salt and eucalyptus soak in the tub. I woke up ready to praise the Lord today following which there was the potblessing pitfall ;-).
Strangely enough I'm not more hungry - but less (at least for now). I'm still trying to keep to the program of healthy (poorly at the moment) and frequent (rather than heavy) meals. I think I can improve on this in the coming two weeks that I am on vacation. The trick will then be to carry that over into the workweek.
With that I have lost 3 pounds and 1/2 inch in the waistline. I'm waking my Wii up so I can add some strength work into the program.
The vacation may have a zoo trip and some such jaunt to San Diego, maybe the beach, and ends with a Pastor & Spouse conference in Las Vegas. Looking forward to all the opportunities to walk and swim soaking up some vitamin D.
That's where I am at and it feels good. I'm thankful and a tab bit motivated/excited. There you have it!
