Wk 102 Weigh In 3/23/13

Saturday, March 23, 2013

So ends another week. I had a better week this time around. So many encouraging comments from my friends here on Spark, really lifted my spirits. Thank you all.

So this week my diet was still pretty sporadic, although I kept a pretty close eye on my calorie intake, my ratios (carb, fat protein) weren't where I wanted them; that is of course all my doing, there's no way to blame anything else but myself for that! So once again, I will try to do better with my diet.

I got some decent gym time in this week, 300 minutes I think. I have a treadmill here at home, not a super fancy one, but it did cost me around $400 when I bought it a few years back. It sits out on my patio pretty much unused. I'm thinking about turning it to face an old cupboard that's out there and putting a t.v. and dvd player in the cupboard. I can go out there, throw in a movie and just walk. Killing 2 birds with one stone, so to speak, since I enjoy watching movies and want to walk more. At least that way the treadmill will get some use and I may be able to drop my gym membership ($54.99 a month). It's something to think about!

Anyway, let's get to the numbers for this week:

Weight : 213.4
Lost : 1.4
Total : 103.8

Hooray! I lost almost all of last week's gain :) I was really hoping all week to maintain or drop just a small amount, so when I got on the scale this morning and saw the 1.4 lb loss, I was shocked, happy shocked. Now comes the challenge, to post another loss next Saturday. Hopefully I'll be able to lose two weeks in a row!

I sincerely hope all of you out there in Spark land have a wonderful weekend :)

Brother you continue to be one of my biggest inspirations!!! Way to bounce back from an off week!!! I think putting the TV and DVD player out there in front of the treadmill. You are right kill two birds with one stone. i love movies too. Maybe I should take some to the gym with me when I do the treadmill as well. Keep on putting in that work brother because you deserve the great results you are getting!!!

Yay! Great job on this week's loss!!

Walking while you watch a movie is a GREAT idea, and well worth the investment if you need to buy a new (or used) tv or dvd player. I hate the treadmill, but my 100-lbs-lost reward was an iPad, and now the treadmill is at least bearable to me because I watch movies on it at the gym. It helps on the eliptical too!

I hope you have another great week!!

Congrats on your loss. I also have a treadmill not being used too often - this one is in my basement. I'm opting for swimming for the most part and only the days I'm stuck in the house do I use my alternatives (stationary bike or videos). I know I'll eventually get back to the treadmill but having the other at home options are helpful.

So glad you had better week :) Controlling those carbs is TOUGH. I think it was easier when I kept them to 30-40g a day. emoticon
Your sounding much more positive this week, I am so happy for you:) emoticon

    Good job this week! emoticon

I would be interested to know your carb/fat/protein ratio ...I have been trying to follow 45% carb, 30% protein and 25% fat but I am always short of protein and long on carb anyway! sigh

It's amazing our bodies work in our favor sometimes, I lost a pound the same week I had the most regrets. If you like the company of your health club members keep going. The number of minutes you exercise weekly is my goal.

    emoticon Have a great weekend/

So tell us, do you like to fly solo at the gym or get down to business with a buddy?

Great work and amazing loss... good for you.

Love the idea of the movie/treadmill , but you better watch calm movies like Under The Tuscan Sun not Stephen Seagal movies or you'll be flying off the back!!!!!

Have a great week, making the cupboard hold the dvd player can count as cardio and strength :)

A loss, no matter how small, still encourages us to keep going on. U did great this week....theres always ways for us to improve emoticon I myself am having problems fitting in cardio. Would kill for a treadmill or elliptical at home again. The idea abt putting the treadmill on the patio with the tv setup sounds emoticon !!! Wanna see pictures when u get it done!
