A Nice Saturday Morning

Saturday, March 23, 2013

My husband and I are both retired and it is rare that I actually get some time alone in the morning. He went to an auction this morning so I had time to get a major refrigerator cleaning done in the kitchen, work out and clean the fish tank without anyone in my way! 24-7 togetherness is very much overrated.
He saw a terrible accident today. A big Cadillac going at a high speed blew through a stop sign and broadsided a smaller car. He said there was a huge explosion of glass and the small car was thrown about 200 feet. He said the first people to run to the smaller car just looked inside and then left to go look in the other car so I assume whoever was in the small car didn't survive. How sad for the families of both cars.

Bad accidents are always so tragic and upsetting. Very hard to get past it.

Glad you had some time to yourself today to get a few things accomplished. DH is going to retire in Jan. 2014 and we'll find ourselves in your shoes with both of us on the same schedule. I'm wondering already how we'll adjust. It's a MAJOR life transition - know just what you mean. emoticon

I love my alone time; today I got to work in the garden this afternoon. So sorry for the families of the accident victims; it's so unsettling to witness something like that too.

So glad you had a productive morning! I too don't get very much "alone" time as my DH is retired and I am still working. Have a wonderful weekend!

    Horrible accidednt!

I also get weary of the 24/7 "togetherness". Today my husband said he thought he'd give up fishing. NOOOOOOO!!! That is the main time I get to myself! I do go out with friends without him, but it is still never ALONE. I'd like to get to know me a little better.
