Choosing exercise

Thursday, March 21, 2013

Every morning I drive by McDonald's on my way to work. Normally, it's not a problem since I've been Sparking for nine months, and I had already had my breakfast. But this morning I had extra time, and a fruit parfait sounded so good. As I approached McDonald's, the mental debate began: Are you hungry? No, but it would be a healthy breakfast dessert, and I could use the calcium and fruit. But you have extra time, and you'll be getting to work ten minutes early. Well, there is probably an empty treadmill at the work gym at this early hour - if you do ten minutes on the treadmill, you won't break a sweat so you don't need to change or shower. But you can savor the parfait while you check your emails. Yeah, but the emails will still be there after you walk, and you'll be more awake and responsive to what you read. OK, walk it is.

I chose the treadmill.
