I'm Ready.

Thursday, March 21, 2013

It's been 4 months since I posted a blog. Most of November and December I was just super busy with my family because of the holidays. But January and February were just bad. I've been going through a major depressive episode for quite a while. I've been so out of everything. I was supposed to graduate in May, but I've had to drop some classes. So, alas, I'll be finishing in December (hopefully). Luckily (and this is a huge luckily here) I haven't gained any weight from this. I haven't lost any, but I haven't gained any either which is great.

I'm ready to feel better. I'm ready to feel like I can move. Whether that's moving off the couch or being able to go for a walk. I'm ready to be interested in things again. And I'm really, really ready to like cooking again. The husband and I have been eating out soooooo much just because I haven't been cooking. And before you go man, why can't your husband cook dinner? Well, he can't. That was not part of the lessons my husband got growing up. He can cook ramen noodles. Sometimes. If he pays attention long enough. I wouldn't really trust him to cook for me. So, lots of eating out. (Again, luckily, I didn't gain weight).

I'm hoping now that I'm finally getting better these things can happen. It's still been chilly and windy out so I haven't been doing much exercise outside. Ok, I haven't been doing much exercise at all (the whole not moving thing was working against me). I'm going to try and start walking with the dogs, even if I have to wear ear muffs in March in Oklahoma. I have ear problems so chilly and windy means my ears HURT if I don't wear something over my ears. Anywho, so I want to start walking. The husband and I are also pretty sure we are buying a treadmill. I think that would be awesome. I'm ready to get moving.

We've been thinking of buying a treadmill, too. My husband needs more exercise...and is a fair weather exerciser. Which means in the winter or rainy fall/spring he does nothing. We were waiting until after the new year...but maybe now is the time to get one and just do it.

Hope your mood is brightening. I can hear a very determined woman in your writing. I also hope you chime in on our spark group, too.

    Take care!

So glad you're ready to go again! It's been a long winter and I think many of us are having motivation problems that might be helped with some warm, sunny weather and spring flowers! Enjoy your treadmill!

Hi, Just had to stop by and say hi cuz I was drawn to the picture of your puppies..... so cute!! Sounds like you are really ready to move forward. Taking your dogs walking will be a great start! I've been out with mine all winter here in CT. We have the same problem. I don't think it's ever going to get warm, but that aside, he keeps me moving and forces me to get out and walk!
Your husband sounds like mine as well. If it was up to him to cook we would be eating takeout or anything that could be thawed in the micro. If you enjoy cooking that's great There are so many things you can make that are healthy and taste good! Good luck. I wish you much success emoticon

emoticon It is good to see you!! Just a Little Bit of Moving will make a Difference.
emoticon My mother ALWAYS covers her ears outside and has for as long as I can remember. With Oklahoma's Cold Wind you HAVE to protect yourself!!

It is yucky here in Vermont too. I love being outside but I do do walk away the pounds...indoor walking that works well.
