In need of a serious intervention from my sparkpeople peers...

Thursday, March 21, 2013

OK all...Today is the day before WI. I know I have done bad this week. But, that is behind me. NOT wanting to face the scale tomorrow morning...But, I must do so, so I do not lose my lifetime member status and also my e-tools code runs out this next week. I have left behind a total out of 26 points plus a day...28 for this week alone. My main culprit is that after 12am...I am just not hungry anymore. Also in the past 3 months, my weight losses have stagnated to only a one point four pound loss. I am looking at going back to basics by getting the new member kit with the measuring cups...however, it is kind of pricey. Who here has it and what are your thoughts???. Also I need to know of tried and true ways to get through a 9pm to midnight snacking habit?.

The previous suggestions are emoticon ! They are all found in the literature on diet and nutrition, (including Spark People). What works for me is drinking a soothing
beverage such as an herbal tea or even plain water. Along with this I try to distract myself with something I enjoy.
It is a good idea to re-evaluate your plan and lifestyle periodically. Returning to the basics is one good solution. However, if you know what is in the WW kit it may not be necessary to spend a great deal of money. If you don't have measuring cups, spoons, etc. there are many places less expensive to buy them. Add the containers, and scale etc. as necessary. For extras I have been known to the Dollar store for some items.
It is not unusual for the scale to move slowly sometimes. Be patient and trust in the process as this is a lifestyle.
I wish you the best and hope you find the solution which fits your needs. emoticon

For the evening snack, I switched to a nice beverage. Either tea or coffee, or a low calorie protein beverage. I don't really miss the evening snack food anymore.

You could try chewing gum, and maybe doing something like crochet or knitting to keep you occupied. emoticon

I brush my teeth right after doing the dinner dishes. This helps tremendously in avoiding night time grazing.
