Please dont tell me....

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

So I've been going to the gym for two weeks now and I must say that I am doing pretty well, looking back over my fitness minutes for the month of march so far I feel like I am kicking some butt. Last week I went to the gym, mon, wed, thurs, fri and sun. This week is starting out the same, I am usually at the gym for an hour. While my hubby is supportive he is driving me NUTS! I have told him time and again that right now the gym is not fun, its not enjoyable, its stressful, and makes me anxious. I told him after some time it will be second nature and the gym will be someplace i enjoy going and will be fun but not when its all so new to me. Every night that I leave to go to the gym he says the same thing, Have fun enjoy your workout. I want to scream at him to please stop telling me that, this is something I HAVE to do to be healthier this is not something I enjoy yet. I mean someone please tell me that you feel the same that the gym is not fun right away its a personal challenge for me to go. Every night my stomach is in knots and I dont like being there its alot of horrible feelings, but 45 mins into my workout and its all changed I feel good and have energy and feel healthier. I almost feel as though its my bodys last ditch effort to keep the unhealthy lifestyle continuing, my minds last card up the sleeve. Everynight I go its me telling myself to back the F**k off so I can be where I want to be and where my family NEEDS me to be. I deserve to be healthy and each hour so fitness is me proving that I do.

Anyways this kinda got away from me but all in all the message is clear I HATE THE GYM RIGHT NOW .... LOL at least I hate the first 15 mins.

I would probably be the same kind anxiety ridden wreck trying to go to a gym you are when you leave. Good for you pushing thru that and actually feeling good at the end of it. As for the hubby, most boys just don't understand anxiety the way we do. He is trying to wish you well and at least he doesn't sabotage your efforts.

As long as you are feeling good and energized when you leave the gym then the purpose of the gym has been served.
