Insights About my First Two Changes

I need to reflect about my first two changes:
 Having a green smoothie for breakfast everyday
 10 minutes of exercise everyday

I've been having my green smoothie every day. I was making the smoothies with a ratio of 3:5 (1.5 cups of fruits and 2.5 C of packed greens). Most of the time the taste was awful. Therefore, I changed the ratio to 3:3. The taste really improved.
Also, I'm learning more about the combinations of fruits and greens. At the beginning I used large amounts of herbs like cilantro and/or parsley. I lowered the amount to make the smoothie more tasty. And, because I used the oranges with the white portion (albelo or pith), the flavor was biter. I had to use less amount of oranges.
I'm still learning with some objectives in mind: nutrition and taste. I know that if the smoothies become a burden or a torture, I am going to discard them, regardless of how nutritious they are.
I've been working out at least 5 days a week. Not a big deal, especially if I count 5 min of warming out, 5 min of cooling down, and 5 min of effective low impact cardio.

    Suggestion: Start again with just fruit. Taste. Good? Okay, Now add a SMALL handfull of a green thing, I'd do spinach first. Blend. Taste.
    Still Okay? Then drink.

    Stay with that for a couple of days.
    Then Day 3, start with what you were up to with fruit and spinach. Then add a small amount of another green, say parsley. Taste? If okay, drink and stay with that for a couple of days.

    For the orange, I think I'd zest the orange part of the peel, Then I'd peel and throw in the rest of the orange and the zest. Are you sure modern wisdom says to use the white part. I've lived in Florida all my life and everything I've ever seen has said to never eat the pith of citrus. Doesn't mean I haven't missed it. But I think you will go on being healthy without it, if you don't like the taste.

    If you still think you should include the nutrition of the pith of citrus, then use small amounts and increase so you can get used to the taste. You could also use tangerines. I think they have less pith.

    Dear CraftsFan,

    Wow! I think you're stronger than me to be drinking green smoothies! I tried once and couldn't hide the taste enough to justify trying again. If you're getting good results, I'll give it a try though. I make fruit smoothies but I'm always coming up short on my greens (folate, etc). So I'm interested!

    In the meantime, I wish you all the best on your weight management journey!
