Not perfect

Sunday, March 17, 2013 was a difficult day for staying on track. We were invited out for breakfast, first of all. My grandson had spent the night, and I didn't spend any time deciding how to handle the breakfast issue. However, that tells me that I need to plan as soon as I know we will be going out, not at the last minute. I had plenty of time before my grandson came to stay the night, so it's just a good reminder to me, especially when my habits are still not completely firmed up, that I have to think further ahead.

That said, my breakfast was among the more moderate choices. If I had planned better, I wouldn't have eaten as much as I did. It turned into one of those "one forkful after another" meals where I was not at all mindful - what with no preplanning and just paying attention to the conversation, not what was going into my mouth. I did not put any additional condiments, jam, syrup, sour cream, butter, etc on my meal, and I did give part of it to my grandson, so those were at least positive.

Then, of course, we were invited for St. Patrick's Day, and the menu included Reuben sandwiches with corned beef and Swiss on rye with sauerkraut. Well, it was a difficult day that could have been better managed with some pre-planning on my part.

To top it off, I didn't do any fitness at all yesterday. I got all of my grading done for finals week, though, so did have productive time there. So, although my day was not perfect meal-planning wise nor exercise-wise, I learned some things about myself that I need to improve, and know what I can do better.

Plan, plan, and pre-plan!
