Afternoon Smoothie

Hi Everyone! We are just sipping our afternoon smoothies. We will have the same one for dinner in about 3 hours.

Dinner Smoothie Recipe:

1/2 cup mango
1 cup blueberries
1 1/2 cup coconut water
1 cup kale
1 Tbsp lemon
1/4 avocado
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 Tbsp flax seeds

I am really enjoying this detox.

Me: This dinner smoothie is tasty, but the kale does not blend up very well. And I have an excellent Bamix immersion blender, so that is not the problem. While it is very liquidy, the kale is very chewy. If you are someone who has problems with textures, you will probably not like this. I don't mind it at all. It is quite nice and I can easily see myself doing this detox for 3 days.
Hubby: Says that the dinner smoothie is more palatable than the lunch smoothie. I really lost him on the lunch one. He had to have a coffee. Which by the way is not allowed. He says that it is 60/40 whether he is going to make the 3 days. 60 yes, 40 no. He is spoiled by my cooking. What is it about men? They don't like you messing around with their food! His only question to us girls is " Why do you do this to yourselves?"

We both agree that we like the Breakfast smoothie the best. I think we will have it again for dinner, since we had our dinner smoothie for afternoon snack.

Breakfast Smoothie Recipe

1 cup water
1 Tbsp flax seeds
1 cup raspberries
1 banana
1 Tbsp almond butter
2 tsp lemon juice

Will write again tomorrow, after we weigh-in.
