it's just incompetence

it's my first laptop. haven't got a clue how to use it, and the instructions only gave me information about what not to do, and how dangerous it could be.
some colleagues of mine got the thing up and running again, and now I know how to turn it off!

When I worked at a Credit Union, I was working with a supervisor, using a loan field screen to add an extra notation about the collateral. I'm not sure what we did the first time, but we took the whole main frame down for all the offices....... once it got back up, we continued with the project, and it happened again.... hmmmm, we aren't stupid--- the third time was on purpose to see if WE were causing it. Sure enough....

Needless to say, we kept that one under our hats, and it was a mystery around the computer room....... bwahahahahahahaha!!!!! So don't worry so much about a laptop. They are usually pretty tough..

I got my first laptop 5 months ago. It is alot of fun being able to put it in the floor and do spark videos instead of standing in front of the family home computer. ha ha

sometimes they are intimidating but hang in there and just mess with it and you learn as you go. My mom has the same problem with hers and I just tell her if you dont know what you are in just click the X in the right hand corner at top and start all over again. You can do it!

jewel, about that not being required to know everything...
can't second the motion. I get squashed from all directions for everything I don't know.

I wouldn't call it incompetence, we're not required to know everything about everything are we?

I remember the first time I connected to the web I did everything so slowly and kept using the back arrow so I wouldn't stray too far.

You'll find you'll be an old hand about laptops by the time you've been on it a couple of weeks.
