Feeling Good

I'm finding it hard to not smile today. I'm not 100% sure why, but I have some ideas.

-My rash (or rashes, I should say, as I have a couple of different ones) DO seem to be clearing. I was really stressing about it the other day but last night I took a really good look as I was applying the hydrocortisone and I realized they most certainly are looking better. This morning was the ketaconazole, and again, they do look like they're getting better. It's really been bringing me down. I'm sad to admit that when my rash broke out, it felt a little like a punishment. I was finally starting to feel really good about my body for the first time in a long time, and then I broke out in a crazy rash! But this morning as I was checking myself out in the mirror I ignored the rashes and just looked at my shape.

It's not perfect. My upper arms are still flabby. Right now it's not a big deal because it's still freezing so I always wear a sweatshirt at work over my short sleeved tops. My thighs jiggled furiously when I applied the cream this morning, but who cares? I always wear shorts and skirts to my knees, who will notice but me, my husband and the dog? At least until bathing suit season, lol. The skin around my belly button is a bit wrinkly, but it's always covered up so I don't care!

It's freezing outside (had to take a break to take the dog out for a walk) but it's sunny, so that's okay.

I just feel... good.

It may be because now I have a plan, a real goal to look forward to, and I'm getting really excited about my corset outfit. =)

Oh and Bob's 10 grain hot cereal? I've been eating it the last few days for breakfast. I put 1/4 cup of grains, 1/8 cup of reduced sugar craisins, either 1/8 cup of sliced almonds or unsweetened coconut, and 3/4 cup of water, then I microwave it for 4 minutes and let it sit in there for 2. Then I add 1 tsp brown sugar and 1/4 cup skim milk. It's yummy! Definitely a change from oatmeal or English muffins, which are my two go-tos in the morning. It's a bit more labor intensive, but also sticks to the ribs a bit more than instant oatmeal. Probably because it's less processed.

Both my grocery store and my super Walmart carry it, so it shouldn't been terribly hard to find. =)

    You sound so upbeat! And why not? You should be! You made me smile this morning with all your positivity!
    Can I tell you something? I think I'm starting to be giddy with anticipation for the day you post a pic of you in the new corset too! It's like getting excited to go shopping for the perfect wedding dress of a great friend! Can't wait to see you in it! Gah!

    I use about half oatmeal and half Bob's 10 grain in my baked oatmeal. I put cut up apples, some nuts, some dried cranberries and a little brown sugar and vanilla in it and make it with milk or soy milk. YUM

    I couldn't agree with you more. Everytime I run up my stairs from the kitchen to our bedroom, the loose skin of my inner thin slaps together and it is VERY audible. And I also feel that when I am naked, the changes are less noticeable to me. Just like STLADEE, I wish I had a pic of myself naked at my heaviest so I could slap myself in the face when I begin to think like that.

    Yummy...the cereal sounds sooo good! I didn't know they had low sugar craisins!! I need to look for them and that cereal at the market. Shop Rite generally has a good selection of Bob's Red Mill products. I get the flax seeds.

    Rashes, thinning hair, bunions, warts, pimples, boils, hangnails even. Sh*t happens to everyone. I'm glad your rashes are getting better AND you are feeling better too!!

    I might not feel the same way as you but you hit the mark about how seeing our body. Of course NOW I wish I would have taken pictures of me 40lbs ago almost nude then I could appreciate the progress made thus far. emoticon But yoiui are so right who is going to see it!? Well at least not right now so who cares!?! LOL

    How do we learn to be more gentle when observing our bodies? Will we always have photoshopped, televised glamour girl ideals against which we measure them? I personally can see a difference in my shape when fully clothed, but naked? I feel like I look the same. Jiggle city. However, we know there's a tremendous difference. It's only logical.

    I love reading that you feel happy. Your blog exudes your contentment. The rash will eventually go away. Soon it will be time for the Renfaire and you will feel fabulous in your new corset.

    Woohoo!!!! I'm so glad that the rash(es) are getting the fuzz out!! If you ask your husband, I'm sure he would say you ARE perfect right now, so don't be all that hard on yourself. ;-)

    That 10 grain stuff does sound good, but it will take a lot to get me away from my raisin bran. :-P
