Working out while broken

I have managed to put on 15 pounds in about 5 days--quite shocking, but I know that it's water weight from eating too many salty things in my frustration at getting injured. I've already dropped 6 of those pounds, so I'm not panicking.

For the last two days I have gone to the gym and gotten on the elliptical for 50 minutes. This seems to be helping with the tailbone. My theory is, that particular area doesn't usually get much in the line of blood flow, so it's really slow in healing bruised tissue. But the elliptical moves it more that other activities, and without a lot of jarring impact. So even though it can't speed up healing the bone fracture much, it can help to heal the contused flesh. So I think it's helping.
