Moving to Stage 2 (officially) 4.23.07

Tuesday, April 24, 2007

I've been on vacation for a week and so no scale to intimidate me. I've lost 2.8 lbs since I began this journey, but more importantly I'm creating healthier habits. Also my butt is getting firmer and my biceps are beginning to make themselves known (slightly). I can feel them! I haven't run up my 3 flights of stairs yet, but carried the laundry and 14 lbs of cat litter up without my usual pause at the second floor landing!

The resources @ SP are nearly overwhelming and I was afraid of fast newbie burnout. The key difference is my team mates. They keep me coming back, now that a bit of the shine of newness has worn off. Keeping connected to my SP community takes comittment and that comittment is then reflected back to me in the form of being more self aware about the changes I'm trying to make.

The Trackers are awesome and really fit my analytical (some say anal) mind. I like to see the process and the progress and the areas where I need more focus. I read articles, recipes, thoughts for the day and nearly every message board post of my main team. I also try to maintain contact with my SP friends; sending Sparkmail or commenting on someone's Sparkpage.

It keeps me busy...Balance in all things!

I've learned that you can have too many teams, to be an effective team member. You need to let folks know you're there, serious and available; the same way I have been warmly received and supported. So I may need to "unjoin" some of my teams.

Decided to begin Diet Stage 2 (healthy habits) today, and realized I'm already taking some of the actions to create these healthy habits...and so it goes

Congratulations on your move to Stage 2. I know I'm always fearful of moving on because I don't know what's in store for me.

Keep up the good work and you know that we are here if you need us.
