Lunch with my Son

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Okay, my son and I were supposed to meet at a local deli for lunch at 12:30. I got there first, the place was packed, which it usually is at lunch time. I ordered my lunch (a cajun shrimp caesar salad) (I didn't eat much of the dressing) and got in line to wait for a table for my son and I and texted him that I was in line. It took a while. I think I got a table about 12::45. He arrived. and he was taking care of something on his cell phone. (He is moving soon, and had to send a new email address for the new landlord to verify his employment). His lunch arrived before mine. When the girl delivered it I asked if she could check on my lunch, because he ordered much later than I did, and I didn't understand why I didn't receive mine. She didn't seem to do anything, because someone else came and asked me, and went to check.

Anyway, one man brought me my salad and apologized, and said that when they went through their numbers last night they accidentally got two number "75's", and when the other 75 said no they didn't order the shrimp salad, the waitress just sent it back to the kitchen. He gave me a coupon for a free meal. Well before my meal was even over, the owner of the store came and apologized again, and explained again, and said he was going to refund my meal for today as well. He brought back cash for the refund.

I definitely will go back. I also signed up for their email and on your birthday they send you a $5 coupon. So I made money on this lunch. And it was healthy too.

I love to patronize places that offer great customer care...
Having worked in restaurants, I know mistakes happen---however, the compensation that you received is an example of professional management...
How nice to have a lunch date with your son!

You came out great! And they will get more good publicity from you than they're spending on making you a happy camper. emoticon

its always nice to see people treat others decently as they should do.
some places you go into and they act like its a chore to wait on ya which is silly because they chose to work there.
they should be enjoying what they do whatever it is
