Asthma + Sickness

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

So I've been sick for about three weeks now. My doctor told me that I could be sick for a few months! Along with being sick my asthma has come back. This wouldn't be such a big deal if I had my own gym membership. My gym partners keep backing out on me so I have been away from the gym since I got sick. Right now I'm not able to use the track due to pollen and the cold (the only time I have to exercise is early morning). I have been able to get out and do a little hiking on the weekends, but I really miss regular exercise. I need my own membership.

Sounds like it is time to check out some of the videos SparkPeople offers, they even have seated workouts for people who can't move all that well (for example, can't do situps or pushups or whatever). It isn't walking but at least you'll get your body moving and your blood pumping.

Cause of our high temps in the Summer months (120+), this past Summer I rearranged my dining room and living rooms to create a mini-track.

I walk 10 laps in one direction then snake between the rooms to reverse direction - in this way, I use both ankles equally in both directions and avoid overuse injuries.

I also am able to increase my pace cause I have no traffic / obstacle issues to slow me down

Aaaand, my allergies are not a problem and I may walk at whatever time fits that day's schedule.

    Just an idea.
