Its a stretch

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

I'm stretching again, thanks to the week #3 LTGL for the 5% Winter into Spring Challenge. I used to stretch daily, and I was quite flexible. But when I got pressed for time, stretching was the first thing to be eliminated. Now I see how stiff I've become. I want my flexibility back. I must remember not to ever eliminate this from my exercise program again - it's vital! I know that if I keep this up daily, my flexibility will return. But I must be faithful to it every day. I'm currently doing 10 minutes a day, but I will add more if it seems to be needed to get back to where I was.

I found I am so inflexible I feel like I should be twice my age. Having to take it slow but am off to watch the in flight movie and stretch.

The first day of the stretching challenge, I got a cramp too. Had to stop doing that stretch. I was grateful no one was watching, I did not look graceful or feline! This is me new(old) favourite stress release! It is my running replacement.

So true! I had eliminated it too because of time. And boy did I pay. This challenge came at the right time. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I couldn't put it any better, Anne. I, too, am gad that it is part of our challenge this week.

How true! I did not get the connection between stretching and flexibility. No wonder it is a LTGL in this challenge. I just didn't get it until I started doing it. You summed it up perfectly!

Me too, and it is surprising how out of shape we get, just from not stretching. When I started again, I did the stretching in bed first like a cat waking up and got Now it is better! emoticon
