Just for the Girls! (But Guys, Feel Free to Read!)

First of all just let me say: I am SO thankful to be able to eat again! That stomach bug was the worst! So thank you everyone, for the prayers and well-wishes! Now on to what I want to talk about!

I of all people know about low self-esteem. If you really need proof, just read my past two blogs and you'll know exactly what I mean! It's hard to have good self-esteem when you look in the mirror and all YOU can see is a "blob" staring back at you! So how do you get past this? I have a few short tips on how to see past that "blob" in the mirror, and to see the real YOU!

Tip 1: Don't let the scale define you!
I've seen this tip a lot since being on SparkPeople, but they are absolutely right! You have to realize that you are AmAzInG regardless of what the scale says!

Tip 2: Treat yourself!
This doesn't necessarily have to be with food! I've got a tendency to reward myself with new shoes, new clothes, or other things I enjoy! These are the things that make YOU happiest!

Tip 3: Write love notes to yourself!
Now, I know this sounds odd, but I don't mean the mushy-gushy love notes that us girls would write guys in middle school. I mean love notes from YOU to YOU telling yourself just how awesome you are! Don't shove it all into one big letter, but rather take a thing here and a thing there per note so that you will have many love notes! I tend to write mine when I'm feeling my lowest. It always helps me to pick myself back up again!

So those are my tips! They're not the easiest of habits (especially number 3!) but they are things I've found to be extremely helpful! Now just remember, no matter who you are or what size you are: YOU are BeAuTiFuL! Much Love!

    Love the tips! Number 2 I got down well, sometimes a little too well with massages, hair apps etc haha. But number 1 and 3 I NEED to work on desperately! emoticon

    I do not understand why you would post this as Just for the Girls. You have posted good advice for all. Believe it or not, men have the similar self esteem and image issue. I for one, looked in the mirror and always thought "I may be a couple of pounds overweight, but I'm still a damned good looking guy."

    After I had dropped sixty pounds, on my way to 90, my sister-in-law gave me my before photo. OMG.

    It's a different kind of self esteem issue. One involving being blind to the truth no matter how much you are killing yourself with denial.

    The love note one ... yeah, well not so much.
