20 lbs and 500 years ago...

Even though I HATE pictures of me because of the extra weight, I don't want to lose a record of a portion of my life. Now that the weight is coming off, I want to share this picture.
It's me, 20 lbs ago. I can look at this and say, "I never want to be that fat again."
I can also look at it with pride, because I sewed up that Tudor dress (c. 1530). It was the first full Tudor outfit I created. They dressed in layers back then due to a mini ice-age that went across Britian and Europe. A little history lesson there
The red dress is fitted over the white smock and a grey skirt. The grey sleeves are really half sleeves that tie up over your elbow and stop at the wrist so the white smock's sleeves show over your hands. The red dress's sleeves actually fall well below the hands, but are drawn back to show a contrasting undersleeve. It's a WARM outfit!
I didn't make the headpiece on this one.
Of course, the photographer snapped the picture when my eyes were closed!
I have another dress I just finished, and will post another blog on that. Perhaps every 20 lbs I should make a new dress?
