We know where this is going

Monday, March 11, 2013

I'm blaming it on "Spring-ahead" malaise. I'm blaming it on working 5 successive school days. I'm blaming it on too many meetings. I'm blaming it on too many trips to the 'city'. I'm blaming it on anything but myself. No matter what I blame it on, I can't pretend I don't know where this is going.

Two weeks without blogging. A couple of days not even spinning the SparkPeople log-in wheel. Ten days or so without 10k run training. A week without facing the Nutrition Tracker. At least a week without playing SparkPeople Trivia. A week or so without joining a single Team Huddle. It's all bringing me precariously close to yet another fall off the wagon.

So, here's the mirror, Wannabee-Conan. Look into your own eyes. Face up to the fact you MUST run tomorrow, Wednesday, and Friday. Realize you have to face away-from-home meals on Thursday only. Use this perfect week ahead and get back on track, well and truly back on the commitment wagon. Be the Sparker you know you can be.

Got it? Do it!

And thank all your SparkFriends who've stayed their courses and set you such powerful examples.

    Hey !!!
Don't fall . Your presence and support are required by us "Newbies"
Just get back at it . No one is perfect. I bet even Conan has left his sandals in the closet and pigged out on grapes and figs on occasion.
I too didn't fair well this weekend but ..... emoticon

I stayed up all night long wondering about this daylight savings thing. Then suddenly, it dawned on me. emoticon

I'm so glad to see you posting again. I hear you loud and clear. I went through a similar patch in February and got back on track. If I can do it, anybody can.

Well Ken, I also struggle against myself. Reminds me of the poem "The Man in The Glass". The writer was right, we need to make that guy our friend!

Right on!!!! Look at me as an example---started that road and ended up taking a "short" Spark break. A quick blink and it's a year and a half later, I've regained my bad old habits and, of course the weight and concurrent health problems. Alas, I didn't have the insight you have stated in your blog.

An interesting exercise I accidentally fell into while researching for a blog wanted to write: Spark stores all your blogs from the past and if you go back to the first one and check them all out, it is really a kick in the pants. Seeing the step-by-step personal growth and hard-won accomplishments you made is a powerful thing. It gave me a feeling of accomplishment and pride, showed me how difficult it sometimes was, how far along I've come, and made me realize how valuable the whole process was to me. Something way worth protecting and nurturing.

You got it in you, and it is not even really a struggle, it's a path. No problem.

My apologies for going on so long, I really don't like pontificating but you've been there for me and I really respect what I have seen of you in Spark. Take it with a grain of salt...
