Lost My Way

Sunday, March 10, 2013

Things have been so crazy lately that I have lost my way a bit. I have been getting in my exercise for the most part. Yesterday, I didn't get home from work until after 8:00 and started early so I didn't get any in. I'm not really worried about the exercise. I think my body likes a break every now and then.

I think I've lost it more with tracking. We have literally been eating out every day except 1 since Saturday (last week). We have been so busy and we have been going in two directions all week. One of us at a closing another at a home inspection and then the showings in between. I can't forget the text messages, emails and phone calls in there too. I haven't been making horrible choices. I have been sticking to fish with sauce on the side or turkey, but I have to admit it. I am tired of eating out. I have trouble tracking it.

I am so tired of eating out that we are not even going out for our anniversary tomorrow. For us, eating in will be an occasion. I do have a listing appointment tomorrow I think. It is supposed to be Tuesday, but I am trying to figure out where to fit JC in this week and, it appears, Tuesday is the only day I can get there unless we rush to fit him in on Wednesday.

I thought today was going to be quiet aside from writing another offer from that couple we took out yesterday, but now the other couple we took out yesterday wants a second showing so they can write an offer. JC is supposed to be in the mix today. The weather is so crappy out. It is cold, damp and raining and I can feel it in my back.

I actually turned people away this weekend. I don't get how people with 400 listings do it. I don't understand how they give the time to people that they need.

On a side note and this was pretty cool. I had a closing on Friday. The listing agent I was working with is one of the real big agents in our area. When he walked in our office, it was like the seas parted for him lol. In either case, he went up to my office manager and told her that I really knew what I was doing and he wanted to do all his closings with me. She was beaming from ear to ear. I don't know. I just did what I always do. I made sure we got to the closing table. This was a deal that the property didn't appraise the first time. I had my buyer move to another lender and we still closed on time :)

Ok, enough rambling. If I can ever find a day to eat at home again, I will. As it looks, every evening this week, we have an appointment. I will figure it out :)

That's got to feel good to have one of the "big fish" compliment you like that. This is why you're so busy even without 400 listings. You do you job right and you are dedicated to your customers. Having to turn people down one day or reschedule them is actually a sign of success so be happy for that.

Good luck finding time to eat at home. I get where it's hard to track restaurant meals, but not having to cook or do dishes is a pretty decent consolation prize.

What do you mean--lost your way??? Even with all the work you're dealing with (and by the way, it's GREAT to see that the housing market really is making a come-back!), and even with eating out so much, you're still sticking with your eating plan. That's fantastic! And do you think I wouldn't notice that you even LOST a lb this past week! PL-E-E-ZE!! I'm in awe of you! Now what's this about an anniversary tomorrow? Did you forget to put in on the team page so that we can send you some happy wishes?!!

You are a professional and take pride in your work. You do the work personally and make sure that everything is done on time. That shows when you are dealing with someone who is "the best". He also has standards and wants to work the best, most professional people he can. As for those who handle 400 listings at one time? Assistants would be my guess. Assistants to type, research, etc. At that point you're only the contact person who does the showing and shows up at the table at the end of the deal.

Good luck in maintaining your balance. **HUGS**

Successful people leave room (and sometimes plenty of it) for failure. Welcome to success! I love eating out. For the most part, I make pretty good choices when my determination remains strong. I continue to concentrate on a healthy fare of freggies (fruits and veggies) with lean protein and whole grains. It seems it may be a constant struggle on one sort or another, but it's beginning to feel a lot more manageable these days (especially during Teddy Bear challenge times). I suggest that you do not try to short change your time with JC or you may simply cancel and miss the bot to the joy, happiness, and peace you so deserve. Happy Anniversary, luv! Hug, hug - Evelyn

Do you ever use the crockpot? I find that helpful on nights that I have to work late.

Remember to take some time for yourself!
