Food related gastrointestinal symptoms???

Saturday, March 09, 2013

My poor little Danny has got digestive troubles, and I am beside myself trying to figure out what to do. For more than three weeks he has been vomiting off and on...initially every three or four days, then more recently every day or two, and the past few days it has been every least once. Most days it is first thing in the morning when he gets up.

Some days he only throws up once, and is fine for the rest of the day. Some days he throws up twice and is fine for the rest of the day. Some days he is sick all day, and some days he is perfectly fine all day.

But I have no way to predict what sort of day it is going to be. I am glad to be homeschooling, though, because if he were in school, I would have had to keep him home every day he was sick...and this has been going on for too long.

I am not one to drag my kids to the doctor for the least little thing, but yesterday, when it was the third day in a row, I made an appointment with the pediatrician for Monday.

I can't help but think that this must be food related. Illnesses don't usually take days off in between symptoms. I just have to figure out how to deal with this, and give my poor son his life back. No one likes staying home all day every day just because you might throw up.

Sounds like a food allergy to me... and I know all about them I have enough of them. Try to think of what he ate when he got sick and see if there are any common items..

Glad you're taking him to the doctor. The digestive system is extremely complicated. Hope you get the answers you need and that he's well again soon!
