Sensa ads on Sparkpeople???

Friday, March 08, 2013

I thought Sparkpeople was all about being sensible with regaining health through weight management. I thought its mission statement was something like helping individuals reach a healthy weight by using practical tools that work over the long run, over a lifetime. I thought Sparkpeople was about being honest with oneself, working with one's weaknesses and obsessions and upbringing and past baggage and so on, to get to a place where those things are still there, only not in control of us.
I thought.
But I see ads for Sensa on Sparkpeople and I think, sheesh, what hypocrites, what sell-outs. Every time I read someone's blog entry waxing poetic about how they used the trackers and menu plans and exercise videos and all the rest, and reached a weight goal they had once thought impossible, I have to think, is that person honest? Maybe that person cheated and used a product like Sensa, and did the rest of the program and just 'forgets' to mention they also used Sensa.
I'm really disappointed, but not particularly suprised.
